Remote.exe: Remote Command Line

This command-line tool allows you to run command-line programs on remote computers. You can also use Remote to distribute the processing requirements for a specified task across several computers.

Remote.exe provides remote network access by means of named pipes to applications that use STDIN and STDOUT for input and output. Users at other computers on a network or users connected by a direct-dial modem connection can either view the remote session or enter commands themselves.

Notes

  • You must run Remote from the command window.

  • Remote cannot be used to control graphical Windows-based applications.

Art Image Security Remark

  • Remote performs no security authorization. It permits anyone running Remote.exe Client to connect to your remote server. Because of this, the account under which the remote server was run is open to anyone who connects.
