Change sampling options

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To change sampling options

  1. Open Performance.

  2. Right-click the System Monitor details pane and click Properties.

  3. On the General tab, specify the sampling option you want:

    • To sample automatically at regular intervals, select the Sample automatically every check box and in seconds type the length of the interval in seconds. The default interval is one second.

    • To sample manually, clear the Sample automatically every check box.

      When manual sampling is selected, click the Update Data button to collect a sample.

  4. Click Apply, and then click OK.

Note

  • To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Administrators group, the Performance Log Users group, or the Performance Monitor Users group on the local computer, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. If the computer is joined to a domain, members of the Domain Admins group might be able to perform this procedure. As a security best practice, consider using Run as to perform this procedure.
