IIS generates events in Event Viewer so that you can verify the performance of IIS. Event Viewer tracks (in order of importance) error events, warning events, and informational events. The logs in Event Viewer provide an audited record of all services and processes in the Microsoft® Windows® Server 2003 operating system, such as logon and connection times.

ASP Errors: Specifies errors generated by the World Wide Web Publishing Service (WWW service) when processing ASP applications that are configured incorrectly.
ASP Events: Specifies events generated from Active Server Pages.
FTP Service Events: Specifies events generated by the FTP service.
ODBC Driver Errors Returned by IIS: Specifies events caused by Web pages that contain ODBC driver errors.
Server-Side Includes Events: Specifies events generated by the part of the WWW service that processes server-side include directives in Web pages.
Core WWW Service Events: Specifies events generated from Web services.
WWW Performance Counter Events: Specifies events generated by the part of the WWW service that monitors and records performance counter data.
WWW Service Events: Specifies events generated by the part of the WWW service that handles internal administration of the IIS server.
