Select a different policy module

To select a different policy module

  1. Log on to the system as a Certification Authority Administrator.
  2. Open Certification Authority.
  3. In the console tree, click the name of the certification authority (CA).
    Where?
    • Certification Authority (Computer)/CA name
  4. On the Action menu, click Properties.
  5. On the Policy Module tab, click Select.
  6. Click the new policy module, and then click OK.
  7. If the policy module has its own configuration interface, you can configure it by clicking Properties.
  8. Stop and restart the Certificate Services service.

Notes

  • To open Certification Authority, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Certification Authority.
  • To register a new policy module so that it is available in the list of policy modules, refer to the Microsoft Platform Software Development Kit.
  • Only one policy module can be active.
  • To stop and restart the Certificate Services service, at the command prompt, type:
    net stop certsvc
    net start certsvc
