To move an encrypted file or folder

  1. Open Windows Explorer.

  2. Click the encrypted file or folder that you want to move.

  3. On the Edit menu, click Cut.

  4. Open the folder where you want to move the file or folder.

  5. On the Edit menu, click Paste.

Notes

  • To open Windows Explorer, click Start, point to All programs, point to Accessories, and then click Windows Explorer.

  • An encrypted file or folder is decrypted if you move it to a volume that is not an NTFS file system volume.
