Description
The hivelist subkey contains the locations of files that store the permanent keys of the registry. Permanent keys are not recreated each time the system starts. By default, the files for all permanent keys except those in HKEY_CURRENT_USER are in Systemroot\System32\Config. The HKEY_CURRENT_USER files are stored in the subdirectories of System-drive\Documents and Settings.
