Planning for Message Queuing

This section suggests ways to plan for and deploy Message Queuing in your organization. Planning and deployment options are included. The section on business scenarios provides simple overviews for deploying Message Queuing in different organizations. For details, see the following links:

  • For information on licensing considerations for a Message Queuing network, see Licensing considerations.

  • Message Queuing can be deployed in either a domain or a workgroup environment. In the context of Message Queuing, a domain environment includes domain controllers that provide a directory service such as Active Directory. For more information, see Deploying in a domain environment.

  • A workgroup does not provide or have access to such a directory service, and can be run in an environment that is not part of a domain. For more information about workgroup deployment, see Deploying in workgroup mode.
