HcFileExtensions Metabase Property

Updated: August 22, 2005

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 with SP1

The HcFileExtensions indicates which file name extensions are supported by the compression scheme. Only static files with the specified file extensions are compressed by IIS. If this setting is empty, no static files are compressed.

In addition to file name extension matches, HcDoOnDemandCompression Metabase Property and HcDoStaticCompression Metabase Property must be set to true for compression to be performed.

The World Wide Web Publishing Service (WWW service) must be restarted for any changes to this property take effect.
