Tools for Deploying Authentication

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

The following tools are available to assist you in deploying authentication:

  • Active Directory Users and Computers. A Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in that allows you to create user and computer accounts in the Active Directory.

  • Group Policy. An MMC snap-in that allows you to apply authentication Group Policy, including Kerberos, auditing, and NTLM authentication behavior.

  • Certificate Services. An MMC snap-in used to establish the certification authorities (CAs) and issue the certificates used in public key authentication.
