Preparing to Extend Web Sites

Updated: August 22, 2005

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 with SP1

FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions provides Web-based and command-line administration for extending Web sites, which enables site owners to author Web sites in FrontPage and delegate site ownership and administration credentials. Extending a Web site means enabling FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions features to augment how you manage the content development and security of your sites. Extending a Web site can add an additional level of security management to a Web site and enable a FrontPage client to open the site and author it in FrontPage.

Before you can extend a Web site by using server extensions, you need to install and enable FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions.
