Configuring Services for Network File System to Use Active Directory Domain Lookup

The preferred method to map Windows users to UNIX users is to use Active Directory Domain Lookup. Both Client for NFS and Server for NFS use one of two lookup methods: Active Directory Domain Lookup or User Name Mapping service.

Configuring Services for NFS to use Active Directory Domain Lookup

To configure Services for NFS to use Active Directory Domain Lookup, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Services for NFS console.

  2. In the left pane, at the top of the tree, right-click Services for NFS.

  3. On the Action menu, click Properties to open the dialog box (shown in FigureĀ 7).

  4. Select the Active Directory Domain Lookup check box, and then enter the Active Directory Domain Services domain to which to connect.

  5. Click OK.

Note

Configuring Services for NFS to use Active Directory Domain Lookup may require that you restart your computer or Services for NFS before the change is enabled.
