Description
The Type 1 Fonts subkey contains the names of the Type 1 fonts that are installed on the system.
The fonts are stored in the Systemroot\WINNT\Fonts folder, and the corresponding entries store the following string values:
String 0 – Specifies with "T" for true and "F" for false whether String 2 exists.
String 1 – Specifies the name of the Printer Font Metrics (.pfm) file.
String 2 – Specifies the name of the Printer Font Binary (.pfb) file.
For example, if the font Arial is installed as a Type 1 font, the corresponding value, when viewed in the Registry Editor (regedit.exe), could appear as follows: T arial.pfm arial.pfb.
Change Method
This entry is maintained automatically by the installation and removal of fonts in the Fonts folder, located in Control Panel.
Notes
The operating system uses Printer Font Metrics files to display a font on the screen.
Printer Font Binary files contain mathematical descriptions for each character. Applications and printers use this information to print text in the described font.
