1. Open Add or Remove Programs from Control Panel.

2. Click Add/Remove Windows Components.

3. Click Active Directory Services under Components, and then click Details.

4. Select the Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) check box under Subcomponents of Active Directory Services, and then click OK.

5. Click Next on the Windows Components page.

6. Review the message that appears. Based on the contents of message, do one of the following:

   • Click Finish if the message, "You have successfully completed the ADAM Setup Wizard" appears.
     
     
   • If an error message appears, make a note of the error, click Finish, and then review the Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) event messages in Event Viewer.

• To open Add or Remove Programs, click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs.
  
  
• If an error occurs in the Active Directory Application Mode Setup Wizard before the Completing the Active Directory Application Mode Setup Wizard page, first review the error message that describes the cause of the problem. Then, click Start, click Run, and type the following:
  
  %windir%\Debug\adamsetup.log
