Description
Stores data that identifies a special operating system variation running on the computer. This entry lets programs identify and customize their features to the platform.
Tip
- To view this data, programs can use the GetVersionEx and VerifyVersionInfo application programming interfaces (APIs).
Caution
- Do not delete this entry or change its value. This entry stores protected operating system data. Editing this data violates your Windows Server 2003 licensing agreement and disqualifies you from receiving Microsoft Product Support Services service. If programs try to change the data, the system stops abnormally and displays a Stop error screen.
