Enforce a Group Policy object link using GPMC

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To enforce a Group Policy object link

Open Group Policy Management.
In the console tree, double-click the forest containing the domain, site, or organizational unit containing the link for which you want to change enforcement of a Group Policy object (GPO) link, and then do one of the following:
- To enforce a GPO link to a domain, double-click Domains, and then double-click the domain containing the GPO link.
- To enforce a GPO link to an organizational unit, double-click Domains, double-click the domain containing the organizational unit, and then double-click the organizational unit (including any parent or child organizational unit) containing the GPO link.
- To enforce a GPO link to a site, double-click Sites, and double-click the site containing the GPO link.
Right-click the GPO link, and then click Enforced to enable or disable enforcement. A check mark next to Enforced indicates that the link is enforced.

Notes

You must have Link GPOs permission for the domain, site, or organizational unit containing the GPO link to complete this procedure.
To determine whether a GPO link is enforced, you can also click the GPO link and look at the information in the Links section of the Scope tab.
You can also enforce a GPO link by clicking on the GPO link in the console tree, right-clicking the link under Links on the Scope tab in the results pane, clicking Enforced to enable or disable enforcement for the link, and then clicking OK.
Enforced is referred to as No Override on computers where Group Policy Management Console has not been installed.
