Specifies the locale that the current user has selected. The locale identifies the geographic variation of the spoken language that the user has chosen. The chosen locale determines the default values for all other regional preferences, such as how dates and times are formatted and the symbols that are used in currency. It also determines which options appear in the drop-down lists on the tabs within the Regional and Language Options box.
To change the value of this entry, in Control Panel double-click Regional and Language Options, click the Regional Options tab, and then click the Customize... button. Next, click the General tab, and then select a locale from the Your locale (location) list. Click OK.
