Notes

  • Performing this task does not require you to have administrative credentials. Therefore, as a security best practice, consider performing this task as a user without administrative credentials.

  • To open Performance, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Performance.

  • The System Monitor configuration is saved to the HTML file, including View type (graph, histogram, report), graph title, and so on.

  • You can apply the counter settings that are saved as an HTML file by dragging the HTML file from Windows Explorer onto a System Monitor graph.

  • You can print a static System Monitor graph by opening the HTML file in a browser. The graph will display the data at the time the HTML file was saved. If you click on the graph, it will become live.

  • You can use the Copy Properties button in the toolbar to transfer all System Monitor settings to the Windows Clipboard as a System Monitor HTML object. You can paste this HTML object into any HTML page.

  • Use the Paste Counter List button on the toolbar (or drag and drop) to transfer the counter settings from the saved System Monitor object configuration in the Clipboard or HTML file to the System Monitor.

Information about functional differences

  • Your server might function differently based on the version and edition of the operating system that is installed, your account permissions, and your menu settings. For more information, see Viewing Help on the Web.
