Install Password Synchronization

To install Password Synchronization

  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs.

  2. Click Add/Remove Windows Components.

  3. When the Windows Components Wizard opens, fill the Active Directory Services check box.

  4. With Active Directory Services highlighted, click Details.

  5. When the Active Directory Services dialog box opens, fill the Identity Management for UNIX check box.

  6. With Identity Management for UNIX highlighted, click Details.

  7. When the Identity Management for UNIX dialog box opens, fill the Password Synchronization check box.

  8. Click OK.

    The Windows Components Wizard begins installing the Identity Management for UNIX components you selected.

  9. If you are prompted to locate files required for Password Synchronization installation, insert the Windows Server 2003 R2 product CD, or browse to the network location of your Windows Server 2003 R2 installation files.

Note

To open Add or Remove Programs, click Start, point to Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs. Password Synchronization cannot be run from a network server. All files must be installed on the local computer. You must be logged on to the computer as a member of both the Schema Administrators and Enterprise Administrators groups to install Password Synchronization. The Password Synchronization installation process verifies that users have both Schema Administrator and Enterprise Administrator access permissions before installation can progress.
