Recover SQL Server Data

Updated: August 21, 2008

Applies To: Windows SBS 2008

Windows SBS 2008 uses the Recovery Wizard to restore local files and folders, and some types of application data from a backup. However, you cannot use the Recovery Wizard to restore data files, data sets, or databases for SQL Server 2008. To restore data for SQL Server 2008, you must use the tools that are included with your SQL Server installation.

For information about restoring SQL Server data, see Overview of Restore and Recovery in SQL Server (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=124577) at the Microsoft Web site.
