Windows Small Business Server 2008 Premium Installation Guide

The Windows® Small Business Server 2008 Premium software is based on the Windows Server® 2008 operating system. During the installation, Windows SBS 2008 Premium configures applications and features, which include:

The Windows SBS Console
Microsoft® Exchange Server 2007 (with RPC-over-HTTP and Outlook Web Access functionality)
Microsoft Forefront™ Security for Exchange Server, Small Business Edition
Windows SharePoint® Services 3.0
Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) 3.0 SP1
Integration with Microsoft Office Live Small Business services
Remote Web Workplace

Important
Unlike previous versions of Windows SBS, Windows SBS 2008 Standard requires 64-bit hardware. Windows SBS 2008 Premium allows your second server to have a 32-bit or a 64-bit processor architecture.

Installing Windows Small Business Server Premium

To install Windows SBS 2008 Premium, do the following:

Install Windows SBS 2008 Standard.

Install the second server by using Windows Server 2008, included with Windows SBS 2008 Premium, and then join it to the Windows SBS 2008 domain.

Optional: Install SQL Server 2008 on the second server for line-of-business applications. (Installing SQL Server 2008 on the first server is also supported.

Optional: Install Terminal Services on the second server to share applications.
