Assign users permission to view the Remote Web Workplace Links List

The Remote Web Workplace Link List consists of two link sections. You can choose to enable either of these sections as appropriate for your organization, and then specify permission for viewing the links. The two sections are:

  • Organization links. These links provide network users with quick access to important server or business resources.

  • Administration links. These links enable members of the Windows SBS Admin Tools Group security group to remotely manage certain administrator-only tasks.

Note

You must be a network administrator to complete this procedure.

To specify which users can view the Organization links section of the Remote Web Workplace Links list

  1. Open the Windows SBS Console.

  2. On the navigation bar, click Shared Folders and Web Sites.

  3. Right-click Remote Web Workplace, and then click View site properties. The Remote Web Workplace Properties page appears.

  4. Click Home page links, and then click Manage links. The Remote Web Workplace Links List Properties page appears.

  5. Click the Permissions tab.

  6. In Users who can access the Link list, click Modify. The Change Group Membership dialog box appears.

  7. In Users and Groups, select the user or group that you want to grant access to.

Note

To select multiple users or groups, press CTRL, and then click each user or group that you want to select.

  1. Do one of the following:

    • To grant access to the selected users or groups, click Add, and then click OK.

    • To deny access to the selected users or groups, click Remove, and then click OK.

  2. Click OK.

To specify which users can view the Administration links section of the Remote Web Workplace Links list

  1. Open the Windows SBS Console.

  2. On the navigation bar, click Shared Folders and Web Sites.

  3. Right-click Remote Web Workplace, and then click View site properties. The Remote Web Workplace Properties page appears.

  4. Click Home Page Links, and then click Manage links. The Remote Web Workplace Links List Properties page appears.

  5. Click the Permissions tab.

  6. In Users who can access the Administration section, click Modify. The Change Group Membership dialog box appears.

  7. In Users and Groups, select the user or group that you want to grant access to.

Note

To select multiple users or groups, press CTRL, and then click each user or group that you want to select.

Note

Administration links only appear for users who are members of both the Windows SBS Link Users security group and the Windows SBS Admin Tools Group security group.

  1. Do one of the following:

    • To grant access to the selected users or groups, click Add, and then click OK.

    • To deny access to the selected users or groups, click Remove, and then click OK.

  2. Click OK.
