Delete a Site Object

Updated: August 8, 2008

Applies To: Windows Server 2008

You can use this procedure to delete a site object.

Membership in Administrators, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure. Review details about using the appropriate accounts and group memberships at Local and Domain Default Groups (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=83477).

  1. Open Active Directory Service Interfaces (ADSI) Edit and connect and bind to the configuration directory partition of an Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS) instance in the configuration set in which the site object that you want to delete resides. For more information, see Manage an AD LDS Instance Using ADSI Edit.

  2. In the console tree, double-click the configuration directory partition, double-click the sites container (CN=Sites), right-click the site that you want to delete, and then click Delete.
