Delete a Site object

You can use this procedure to delete a site object. Delete a site object only after you have removed all server objects from the site and you have reassociated the subnets with a different site. The Servers container is deleted when you delete the site.

Membership in Enterprise Admins, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure. Review details about using the appropriate accounts and group memberships at Local and Domain Default Groups (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=83477).

To delete a site object

  1. Open Active Directory Sites and Services: On the Start menu, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Sites and Services.

  2. In the console tree, click the Sites container.

  3. In the details pane, right-click the site that you want to delete, and then click Delete.

  4. Click Yes to confirm your choice.

  5. In the Active Directory message box, read the information, and then click Yes to delete the site and its servers container object.
