Target Platform

Select the operating system that you want to use from the list.

With Internet Explorer Administration Kit 8 (IEAK 8), you can customize and install Internet Explorer 8 on computers running x86-based and x64-based versions of Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2), Windows XP with SP3, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows Vista with SP1, and Windows Server 2008 operating systems.

You must create a separate package for each operating system that you want to support. To retain settings across multiple operating systems, specify the same destination folder for each package. After running the customization wizard, you can reuse the resulting .ins file by opening it under Advanced Settings on the File Locations page. IEAK will display the selections saved in the .ins file on the pages of the wizard. You can make changes to the settings in the wizard, and the wizard will include the saved settings from the .ins files as well as any settings that you changed. The packages are saved in different subfolders within that destination folder.
