The Microsoft® Windows Server® 2008 Network Policy Server Management Pack for Operations Manager 2005 collects the events that the Network Policy Server (NPS) service places in the Windows Server 2008 event logs. This management pack highlights events that might indicate possible service outages or configuration problems so that you can quickly take corrective or preventive actions. For example, the Microsoft Network Policy Server Management Pack alerts you to the following critical conditions:

  • The NPS service is stopped.
  • NPS service initialization data issues are causing startup failures.
  • Network or communication issues are causing startup failures.
  • Unexpected NPS service terminations are occurring.
