Service Pack 3 Windows 16-bit Client

The Service Pack 3 (SP3) Microsoft Windows 16-bit Client for Exchange Server 5.5 consists of two downloadable files:

  • SP3_55wi.exe—Win16 Outlook Client

  • SP3_55su.exe—Client Support Files

To install the 16-bit Microsoft Outlook Client for Exchange Server 5.5 SP3:

  1. Create a directory named SP3.

  2. Choose from the following language versions, and download the compressed client file, SP3_55WI.exe, into the SP3 directory.

    • English (11.7 MB file, 57 min @ 28.8 Kbps)

    • French (1.5 MB file, 7 min @ 28.8 Kbps)

    • German (1.5 MB file, 7 min @ 28.8 Kbps)

    • Japanese (1.5 MB file, 7 min @ 28.8 Kbps

  3. At the Microsoft Windows NT command prompt, switch to the SP3 directory, and type:
    <file name> -d
    For example, SP3_55wi -d.

  4. Type:
    setup.

To install the Client Support Files for Exchange 5.5 SP3:

  1. Create a directory named SP3\Support.

  2. Download the compressed client file, SP3_55su.exe into the SP3\Support directory.

  3. At the Windows NT command prompt, switch to the SP3\Support directory and type the file name, SP3_55su, to bring up the self-extracting menu.

  4. From the menu, select the folder in which to unzip the files.

  5. Select Unzip.

The client support file includes the following directories under the SP3\Eng\Support directory:

  • Langpack—Outlook Web Access language packs. Located in the SP3\Support\Langpack\Eng\Nta and SP3\Support\Langpack\Eng\Ntx directories.

  • Msoutl—Outlook Schedule+ drivers. The Microsoft Schedule+ Exchange Transport DLL installation program is located in the SP3\Support\Msout1\Eng\Win16 and SP3\Support\Msout1\Eng\Win32 directories. This driver enables you to open Outlook calendars from within Schedule+ 7.x. It works only with the Microsoft Windows NT or Windows 95 versions of Schedule+ 7.x. You must also be using Exchange.

  • Template—Outlook Address Book language templates. The templates are located in the SP3\Support\Template\Eng\I386 directories.
