Applies To: Virtual Machine Manager 2008, Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2, Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2 SP1

You can use the procedure in this topic to view the following system and hardware configuration information for a virtual machine host:

  • Processor and memory

  • Graphics processing units (GPUs)

    Note

GPU information is only available if you are running Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2 with Service Pack 1.

  • Storage

  • Floppy drives

  • Network adapters

  • DVD and CD drives

To view system and hardware configurations for a host

  1. In Hosts view, navigate to the host group that contains the host and then, in the results pane, double-click the host.

  2. In the Host Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab.

  3. To view detailed information about the host’s hardware components, click the component’s icon in the left pane to display its information in the right pane.

Most host properties on the Hardware tab are view-only. However, you can use the Hardware tab to specify whether or not a specific volume is available for placement, or to override the discovered network location for a network adapter. For more information about changing host properties, see Modifying the Properties of a Host.
