If a malfunctioning application locks up a VDM, use the following procedure to terminate the VDM.

To terminate an MS-DOS VDM

  1. Press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to display the Task Manager.

  2. Click the Applications tab.

  3. Click the name of the application, and then click End Task .

If the application does not respond, another dialog box appears giving you the option to wait or to end the task.
