Description

Determines whether the Shutdown button in the Log On to Windows dialog box is enabled. The Log On to Windows dialog box appears when the user is logging on to Windows 2000. The Shutdown button lets users stop the operating system without logging on or turning off power to the computer.

The Shutdown button is disabled. It still appears in the Log On to Windows dialog box, but it is dimmed and does not operate.

Change method

To change the value of this entry, use Group Policy. This entry corresponds to the Enable shutdown from Authentication dialog box Group Policy (Computer Settings\Software Policies\Windows NT System\Logon).
