Modify HTTP Filtering for Web Traffic

If HTTP filtering blocks legitimate requests to a Web service that you publish, you can use the following procedure to modify the HTTP filter for a Web publishing rule so that it is less stringent. However, you must balance your security needs with the functionality of the Web services that you provide.

To configure HTTP filtering for a Web publishing rule

  1. Log on to the Management Server by using an account that is a member of the Domain Admins group.

  2. Click Start, click All Programs, click Windows Essential Business Server, and then click Windows Essential Business Server Administration Console.

  3. Click the Security tab, click Network firewall, and then in the tasks pane, click Start Forefront Threat Management Gateway console.

  4. In the console tree, click Firewall Policy.

  5. Under All Firewall Policy, right-click the Web publishing rule that you want to modify, and then click Configure HTTP.

  6. In the Configure HTTP policy for rule dialog box, change the HTTP policy for the publishing rule.

  7. Click OK.
