Modify the Virus-Scanning Engines Used by Forefront Security for Exchange Server

Use the following procedure to modify the virus-scanning engines that are enabled in Forefront Security for Exchange Server. It is recommended that you select at least three engines, and you can select up to five engines.

For more information about virus scanning in Forefront Security for Exchange Server, see Forefront Security for Exchange Server Help: On the Windows EBS Messaging Server, in the Forefront Server Security Administrator, press F1.

To modify the virus-scanning engines that are enabled
  1. Log on to the Management Server by using an account that is a member of the Domain Admins group.

  2. Click Start, click All Programs, click Windows Essential Business Server, and then click Windows Essential Business Server Administration Console.

  3. Click the Security tab, click E-mail anti-malware, and then in the tasks pane, click Start Forefront Server Security Administrator console.

  4. In the Connect to Server dialog box, type the name of your Windows EBS Messaging Server, and then click OK.

  5. In the Shuttle Navigator, click SETTINGS, and then click Antivirus.

  6. In the list of scan jobs, click Transport Scan Job.

  7. In File Scanners, select up to five scan engines, and then click Save.

  8. Repeat step 7 for the Realtime Scan Job and Manual Scan Job.

  9. In Bias, confirm the existing selection or make another selection.

  10. In Action, confirm the existing selection or make another selection.

  11. Click Save.
