Modify Account Credentials in System Center Essentials

Updated: March 10, 2009

If you change the password for the domain administrator account, you must change the account credentials that are used by services for System Center Essentials so that Windows EBS functions properly. Use the following procedures to change the account credentials that the OpsMgr Health Service uses, and to change the credentials of the SQL Server Reporting Service execution account.

To change the account credentials that the OpsMgr Health Service uses
  1. Log on to the Management Server by using an account that is a member of the Domain Admins group.

  2. Click Start, click All Programs, click Windows Essential Business Server, and then click Windows Essential Business Server Administration Console.

  3. Click the Computers and Devices tab, click the Management Server, and then in the tasks pane, click System Center Essentials console.

  4. In the System Center Essentials console, in the Go menu, click Administration.

  5. In the console tree, expand Security, and then click Run As Accounts.

  6. In Action Account, right-click the name of the domain administrator account, and then click Properties.

  7. In Run As Account Properties, click the Account tab, type the user name for the domain administrator account in the User name text box, type the password in the Password and the Confirm Password text boxes, and then click OK.

  8. In Run As Account, right-click Data Warehouse Action Account, and then click Properties.

  9. In Run As Account Properties, click the Account tab, type the password for the domain administrator account in the Password and the Confirm Password text boxes, and then click OK.

To change the credentials of the SQL Server Reporting Service execution account
  1. On the Management Server, click Start, click All Programs, click SQL Server 2005, click Configuration Tools, and then click Reporting Services Configuration.

  2. In Report Server Installation Instance Selection, in Machine Name, type the computer name of the Management Server, select SCE for the instance name, and then click Connect.

  3. In Reporting Services Configuration Manager, click Execution Account, type the user name for the domain administrator account in the Account text box, type the password in the Password and the Verify Password text boxes, click Apply, and then click Exit.
