Run Diagnostic Tests

Applies To: Windows HPC Server 2008

HPC Cluster Manager provides a systematic way for you to run diagnostic tests. There are three ways to run diagnostic tests:

  • After you have configured your head node and added all compute nodes to the cluster, you can run diagnostic tests to validate cluster functionality and troubleshoot any configuration issues. In the To-do List, click Validate your cluster. In the Run Diagnostics dialog box, you can select either all functional tests, or a single test.

  • You can select one or more nodes in either the List or Heat Map view and run either a single test, or all functional tests on the selected nodes. For details, see the procedure below.

  • To run a specific set of diagnostics tests on one or more nodes, you can run tests from Diagnostics. In the Navigation Pane, click Tests, select one or more tests in the views pane, right-click your selection, and then click Run. In the Run Diagnostics dialog box, you can select a specific set of nodes to test.

For information about using HPC Cluster Manager, see Overview of HPC Cluster Manager.
