Internet presence scenario (Office SharePoint Server 2007)

After you have installed and configured the farm and deployed the solution, the next step is to configure the failover infrastructure for the farm to ensure that it meets the availability requirements specified in governance agreements.

Configure the failover infrastructure

Work with the database administration team to configure the failover system as specified in the design specification.

Action

Provide the database team the following two articles:

Configure connection aliases for the computers running Microsoft SQL Server 2005 in the farms.

  • Configure database mirroring from the production to the failover farm.

  • Test failover and failback.

Document how failover was configured, and how to fail over and fail back.

Outcome

Functioning failover system.

Operational documentation that describes to fail over and fail back successfully.
