Determines whether the system waits for the logon script to finish running before it starts Windows Explorer and creates the desktop.

Change method

To establish a policy related to this entry, use Group Policy. The value of this entry can be overridden by using the Run logon scripts synchronously Group Policy (User or Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Logon).

This entry applies to all users of the computer. The RunLogonScriptSync entry in HKEY_CURRENT_USER is configured separately for each user.

Group Policy settings included in Windows 2000 can supercede this entry. While the Run logon scripts synchronously Group Policy is enabled (in the Computer Configuration or User Configuration policy folders), the system ignores this entry. The Run logon scripts synchronously policy setting is stored in the values of the RunLogonScriptSync entry in HKLM and the RunLogonScriptSync entry in HKCU.

Windows 2000 does not add this entry to the registry. You can add it by editing the registry or by using a program that edits the registry.
