DcCacheSize

Data type

Range

Default value

REG_DWORD

0x0–0xFFFFFFFF ( domains )

0x11 ( 17 )

Description

Determines the maximum number of entries in the domain controller cache. If the cache is full (that is, the number of entries is equal to the value of the DcCacheSize entry) when the next entry arrives, Message Queuing deletes half of the entries in the cache. The oldest entries are deleted first.

The domain controller cache stores the name of the primary or backup domain controller in each domain that responds most quickly to queries. There is one entry for each domain. Message Queuing uses the domain controller listed in the cache to search for information about users whose security identifiers (SIDs) appear in incoming messages.
