Prohibit renaming of RAS connections belonging to the current user

Description

Determines whether users can rename their private dial-up (remote access) connections. Private connections are those that are available only to one user.

If you enable this policy, the Rename option is disabled.

If you disable this policy, the Rename option is enabled for users' private dial-up connections. Users can rename their private connection by clicking an icon representing the connection or by using the File menu.

Note Image Note

This policy does not prevent users from using other programs, such as Internet Explorer, to rename remote access and local area connections.

Tip-icon Tip

To create a private connection, on the Connection Availability page in the Network Connections wizard, select Only for myself.
