Explanation:
The WINS record is specific to Windows 2000 and is attached only to the zone root domain.
User Action:
Verify that your WINS Server IP addresses are correct. In the WINS Lookup dialog box, right-click the primary zone and click Properties. If the addresses are correct, test them by using the ping or nbtstat utilities. If resolution is successful, enable DNS for Windows Resolution: 1. Open Control Panel, and double-click Network. 2. Click the Protocols tab, and click TCP/IP Protocol in the Network Protocols list. 3. Click Properties, and click the WINS Address tab. 4. Verify that the IP addresses for both the primary and secondary WINS servers are correct, and that the Enable DNS for Windows Resolution check box is selected.
