Description
Specifies the path represented by the TEMP variable.
Change method
To change the value of this entry, use System in Control Panel. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Environment Variables. In the User variables for user-name box, click TEMP. Click the Edit button, and then enter the new data in the Variable Value box.
Activation method
To make changes to the entries in this subkey effective, you must log off and then log on again. Changes to these variables take effect either when a non-Windows-based application is run or when the command prompt is used.

Caution
The data type of entries in this subkey must be REG_EXPAND_SZ. If a user or application changes the data type, the system will not replace the variable with its intended value.
