This topic lists the Duet client error codes that you may encounter when using the client installation wizard and also when installing clients in a distributed environment using a command-line process. The software prerequisites that Duet requires are also listed with their product codes for reference.
Duet Client Installation Error Messages and Product Codes
Install Wizard Error Messages
Error_26000: Failed to register assembly. (ExitCode: 0x[2])
Error_26001: Failed to rollback register assembly. (ExitCode: 0x[2])
Error_26010: Failed to unregister assembly. (ExitCode: 0x[2])
Error_26011: Failed to rollback unregister assembly. (ExitCode: 0x[2])
Error_26201: Failed to create SQL database: [3], ErrorCode [2], Error detail: [4]
Error_26202: Failed to drop SQL database: [3], ErrorCode [2], Error detail: [4]
Error_26203: Failed to connect to SQL database. ([2] [3] [4] [5])
Error_26204: Error [2]: failed to execute SQL string, error detail: [3], SQL key: [4] SQL string: [5]
Error_26205: 'The database [3] already exists do you wish to continue?'
Error_27000: Failed to check network path for [TARGETDIR]
Error_27001: Installation cannot continue because install location is a network path.
Error_27002: Installation cannot continue. The [Product] cannot be installed to [MDTOOL_PRODUCTNAME] installation path.
Error_28000: The running custom action has encountered an unexpected error.

/CheckPreReq – Return value specifies which prerequisites are installed in the log file located in the %temp% foler. Compare the corresponding bit in the return value.

Supported Product Codes
When using setup.exe you may encounter errors related to different product codes that are either missing or incorrectly installed.
The following sample product code and the definitions of the character hexadecimal values are provided for the Microsoft Office 2003 products that Duet supports.
