Configuring application settings for firewall client requests

Application settings for Firewall clients can be modified in Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway or on the client computer.

  1. In the Forefront TMG console tree, click Networking, and then click the Networks tab.
  2. In the task pane, on the Tasks tab, under Related Tasks, select Configure Firewall Client Settings.
  3. On the Application Settings tab, click New.
  4. In the Application Entry Setting dialog box, specify the application name, key, and value, and then click OK.
  5. To modify an existing setting, select the application in the Settings list, and then click Modify.
  6. To delete an existing setting, select the application in the Settings list, and then click Remove.

To apply configuration changes for all applications on a specific client computer, modify the Common.ini file on the client computer.

To specify configuration settings for a specific application, create and modify the Application.ini file on the client computer. You can create the file for all users or for a specific user.

For more information on these .ini files, file location, and syntax, see About Firewall client configuration settings (topic not in B2).
