Unauthorizie a DHCP Server in AD DS

Applies To: Windows Server 2008

You can use this procedure to unauthorize a DHCP server in AD DS.

Membership in the Domain Admins group, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure. Review the details in "Additional considerations" in this topic.

To unauthorize a DHCP server in AD DS

  1. Open DHCP.

  2. In the console tree, click DHCP.

  3. On the Action menu, click Manage authorized servers.

  4. The Manage Authorized Servers dialog box appears.

  5. In Authorized DHCP servers, select the server you want to unauthorize.

  6. Click Unauthorize.

Additional considerations

Removing authorization for a DHCP server from the directory causes that server to stop responding to client requests.

If the server you unauthorize is the only DHCP server, clients will be unable to obtain IP address leases through DHCP.
