How to Import the Windows Server DNS Management Pack

Applies To: Operations Manager 2007

For instructions about importing a management pack, see How to Import a Management Pack in Operations Manager 2007 (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=98348).

After the Windows Server DNS Management Pack is imported, perform the following procedure to finish your initial configuration:

  1. Create a new management pack in which you store overrides and other customizations.

  2. Configure the DNS action account (if running in a low-privilege environment). See Appendix: Least Privilege Setup for more information.

  3. Enable proxy discovery on every DNS managed node. For instructions, see How to Configure an Operations Manager 2007 Agent-Managed Computer as a Proxy for Agentless Managed Computers (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=119294).

Note

Proxy discovery must be enabled on every DNS managed node. It is essential for discoveries to function properly.
