The following section describes what's new in the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Documentation Library since August 2008. The topics listed in the table are new or contain significant technical changes to Configuration Manager 2007. Topics that contain minor changes to Configuration Manager 2007 are not listed.
Configuration Manager 2007 Supported Configurations
Updated to include new client and site system support information including: SQL Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V, Windows XP Professional SP3, and Windows Mobile 6.1. Required update information for using SQL Server 2008 to host the site database was also added.

Updated to add new client and site system support information including: SQL Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V, Windows XP Professional SP3, and Windows Mobile 6.1. Site server operating system upgrade to Windows Server 2008 from Windows Server 2003 information and required update information for using SQL Server 2008 to host the site database and was also added.
Configuration Manager 2007 R2 Supported Configurations
Updated to include recommended update information for using SQL Server 2008 to host the site database.
Configuration Manager 2007 R2 Installation Checklist
Topic title changed to more accurately reflect that R2 is an additional feature installation that requires Configuration Manager 2007 SP1 and is not an upgrade installation.
Considerations for Upgrading Sites
Updated to clarify the default collection creation behavior during upgrades. Additional information about the performance impact to central sites when performing simultaneous child site upgrades added.

Updated to add command line information to specify client component file location while using Setup command line options to perform upgrade installations.
Certificate Requirements for Native Mode
Updated the section for site systems with the important information that when the software update point accepts client connections from the Internet only, the certificate must contain both the Internet FQDN and the intranet FQDN.
Prerequisites for Native Mode
Updated to clarify that when a primary site is in native mode, running a child primary site in mixed mode for a sustained period of time is a supported scenario. There is no requirement that all primary sites in the hierarchy are configured for the same site mode.
Configuration Manager and Content Location (Package Source Files)
Updated the section “How Clients Choose Distribution Points from the List” with corrected information about the retry behavior when the selected distribution point is unavailable.
