Managing Search service applications includes the following tasks:

• Create and configure a new Search service application (Search Server 2010). Create a Search service application as part of a new deployment of Microsoft Search Server 2010 or as needed.

• Change the default content access account (Search Server 2010). Change the account that the crawler uses.

• Change the contact e-mail address (Search Server 2010). Specify the e-mail address to use when content owners need to contact an administrator if crawl errors or performance issues occur.

• Configure proxy server settings for search (Search Server 2010). Specify proxy server settings if you are using a proxy server when crawling content on another server.

• Configure enterprise search (Search Server 2010). Configure basic search functionality to enable end-users to get search results and enable search reports.
