Recovery Password Cmdlets

The cmdlets in this section allow you to administer System Center Mobile Device Manager recovery passwords for managed Windows Mobile devices. If a user forgets the device password, the recovery password may be used to unlock the device and reset the device password.
A new recovery password is automatically generated on the device and sent to the server when the password reset operation is completed successfully. A new recovery password is also created when the User Reset of Password Group Policy setting is changed to Enabled on the device with using MDM Server selected.

Returns the recovery password corresponding to the specified managed device.
- Update-MDMDeviceRecoveryPassword
Forces the specified managed device to generate a new recovery password and send it to the server in the next two scheduled device management sessions.
- Update-MDMDeviceRecoveryPasswordEncryptionKey
Deletes all existing device recovery passwords in the current MDM instance, and forces all managed devices to generate new recovery passwords and send them to MDM Device Management Server during the next device connection.
