Backing Up and Restoring the SQL Server Databases

2/9/2009

To back up and restore the SQL Server databases for MDM, see Backup and Recovery of MDM Databases. For information on backing up and restoring databases in SQL Server, please visit the following Microsoft Web site: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=126936. For general information about SQL Server 2005 Operations, please visit the following Microsoft Web site: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=108412.

Note

If you are using T-SQL scripts, then back up and restore the Master Key on the Enrollment database. If you are using the SQL Server Management Studio console, then the console handles everything. In both cases, there is no backup and restore process for SQL Server jobs. Therefore, you should run SQL Server scripts to create the jobs. For information on backing up and restoring the SQL Server jobs, see Backing Up Your SQL Server Databases for MDM. You should also make sure that the backups for SQL Server Full Recovery Mode are configured and operating properly.
