Stopping and Restarting MDM Device Management Server

When you stop or start Mobile Device Manager Device Management Server, you must stop or start MDM services and MDM Web sites on the computer that is running MDM Device Management Server.

Note

MDM Device Management Server does not report start and stop events for MDM services in the system log. For more information, see the Knowledge Base article https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=119645. To work around this issue, perform the following steps: 1.Open Control Panel, and then double-click Scheduled Tasks. 2. On the menu bar, choose Advanced, and then select AT Service Account. 3. In the AT Service Account Configuration dialog box, choose System Account, and then choose OK. 4. Open a command prompt, and then type the following command: AT 12:00/i mofcomp %windir%\system32\wbem\scm.mof This step recompiles the Scm.mof file. 5. Close the Command Prompt window, and then restart the computer.

To stop MDM services

  1. On the Start menu, choose Run, and then in the Open box, type services.msc.

  2. In the Services dialog box, right-click each of the following services and select Stop:

    • SCMDM ADGP Service
    • SCMDM GCM Service
    • SCMDM Password Recovery Service
    • SCMDM Software Distribution Service
    • SCMDM Wipe Service
  3. On the Start menu, point to All Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then choose Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.

  4. In IIS Manager, expand Web Sites, right-click each of the following Web sites, and then select Stop:

    • MobileDeviceManagerAdmin
    • MobileDeviceManager

To start MDM services

  1. On the Start menu, choose Run, and then in the Open box, type services.msc.

  2. In the Services dialog box, right-click each of the following services and select Start:

    • SCMDM ADGP Service
    • SCMDM GCM Service
    • SCMDM Password Recovery Service
    • SCMDM Software Distribution Service
    • SCMDM Wipe Service
  3. On the Start menu, point to All Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then choose Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.

  4. In IIS Manager, expand Web Sites, right-click each of the following Web sites and select Start:

    • MobileDeviceManagerAdmin
    • MobileDeviceManager
