Optional Configuration

You can configure the Operations Manager Management Pack for your environment. For instance, to reduce network traffic, you can override the rules that collect performance data.

The following table lists optional configurations for the Operations Manager Management Pack and specifies where you can find additional information about each option.

Change the default settings by overriding rules.

Disable performance data, warnings, and events that you do not want to receive. To reduce network traffic, you can disable the rules that collect warnings, data, and noncritical events in environments such as the following:

  • Deployments in a wide area network with slow links

  • Deployments across satellite links

  • Deployments involving large branch offices

  • Deployments in which alerts are forwarded to a global network operations center
