Remote Access security

Applies To: Windows Home Server

Windows® Home Server uses a security certificate to help secure the information that is exchanged between it and the Web browser on your computer. When you install the Windows Home Server Connector software on your home computers, the Windows Home Server security certificate is added to the trusted certificate list for your home computer. The best way to access your Windows Home Server Web sites while you are away from home is to use a portable computer that you have added to Windows Home Server by installing the Windows Home Server Connector software on it.

Accessing your Windows Home Server Web sites from public or other untrusted computers is not recommended. If you do this, you might expose your Web sites to malicious software or viruses.
